Creating new ways to experience sports.
We wanted AtBatVR for Daydream to be something that has never been done before on any platform or for any user. Over the past few years, I’ve acted as vision holder, ideator, producer or production artist when required.

We started exploring original concepts and investigating VRUX, interactivity and visual language. We prototyped iteratively and failed early and often, especially because VR has few established patterns.
We wondered what our fans cared about, what made the most sense for this form factor, and how much of AtBat’s visual language and interaction patterns could be shared. We had to reconsider everything from where to align the most important content to how to create a comfortable experience.
Removing decoration and favoring abstraction as a way to highlight data and video was important.
Instead of constructing highly detailed digital sets and seductive environments, we focused on building a UX that allows the user to find the data at the game on the right day without distraction.
Our product was tightly focused around the intersection of data visualization and live video in VR. We innovated UX to make watching games in VR compelling, invented new technology to stream 6K VR and traditional live broadcasts, and developed a 360 graphics package to accompany all our produced content

3D Strikezone preproduction concepts
We knew that we wanted an experience that was transformative for Baseball.
Our launch product combines video and Statcast presentation for every play with a “tabletop” and ‘strikezone” view of what’s happening on the field. Fans can watch any game from any vantage point and any moment in time.
